# Kona Kona is the name of the planet. Most religions on Kona have their own theory of [[Soul Mechanics]], and attempt to derive their philosophies from their theory. * [[The Pure Light]] * [[The Astral Song]] ## Tech on Kona Technology is in varying stages of development in different parts of Kona. However, it is not always immediately obvious how advanced a society is at first glance. Different parts of [[Magitech]] are used in different ways by different civilizations. One civilization may have complex machinery, whilst another may seem less advanced at face value, but is equal if not surpassing in a different area of magic. Some semi-universal technologies, however, are as follows: ### Airships Airships have existed for a while and have had time to become a commonplace means of transportation over difficult terrain. In their most common form, they are slow and have many of the same downsides of a real-life blimp. There is a more recent magical form of airships spearheaded by [[The Kavisi]] that can travel much faster, but have the limitation of needing to sail over water like a normal boat due to how the magical levitation works. ## Conflicts and Struggles There are a number of threats and societal issues taking place as the campaign starts. e ### I'll steal the moon! [[Claug]] has become a full fascist state and is attempting to travel to [[The Moons]] to harness their power. ### Famine and plague [[Kanara]] is undergoing a famine, and in one city, the beginnings of a plague. ### The New Moon Since the new moon showed up, reports of ghosts in all major nations have been increasing. Many mages sense fluctuations in their magic, and nobody is sure what happens if you die beneath it. It is causing a theological and cultural crisis in many societies. ### The Sinking Shores Scientists from [[Zhavvygrad]] have noticed that ocean is starting to sink very slowly. Where is it going?

They take many forms. Some civilizations, such as [[Zhavvygrad]] mass-produce them. Other are very specialized, and made for specific tasks. ### Humanoids with Animal Features There are a myriad of different kinds of intelligent humanoid beings with various animal features. * Catfolk * Salamander folk ### Hobfolk Most Hobs come from [[Hobbargah]], a collection of city-states built atop a massive, ancient battlefield. Hobs are known as vibrant, exciting people who love to explore and discover new things. They come in many shapes, colors, and sizes. More on [[The Hobs]] ### Humans [[Humans]] are thought to originate from an area around [[Kanara]], long ago. ## Kingdoms and Nations ### The Kavisi [[The Kavisi]] are semi-nomadic traders who pioneered magical airship technology. They have some more permanent settlements on massive mesas in the desert that are only easy to reach with their help. They have a fairly elitist culture, rarely letting outsiders in. When they do, they are carefully vetted. ### Hobbargah [[Hobbargah]] is a collection of city-states that have many different leaders amongst them. These city-states are collected and structured over a large, ancient battlefield. Their society is largely scavenging and excavation based, with a strong culture of re-use and re-purposing. The region is known for lots of moss, few trees, mutated flora and fauna, megaflora, and mushrooms. ### Myxomycities The [[Myxomycities]] are a gothic nation who believe that souls should be combined. They conduct many death rituals. They reside underground below [[Hobbargah]]. Crypt nation - oriented around dungeons and caves and crypts. Their architecture is made of various detritus, with special emphasis on bones. ### Zhavvygrad The lights, the parties, the music, the dancing. Where the decadent rich rub elbows with gangsters and artists alike. From the grand opera houses to the back alley gin joints, there’s nowhere on Kona like Midtown in Zhavvygrad. Zhavvygrad is a constitutional monarchy located on a peninsula near Kanara. It is known for its extreme wealth disparity. Despite this, it is an intellectual hotbed, and has a socialist movement. Zhavvygrad is extremely industrialized, second only to Claug. It consists of a single megacity with farmland surrounding it. ### Claug Originally a collection of cooperating states, Claug has recently homogenized and begun extreme industrialization and weapons manufacture. They also have a burgeoning space program with the goal to take over the moons for their magical power, and control the flow of souls. They are currently in sporadic conflict with the [[The Kavisi]] for their magical airship technology. In the past, the [[The Kavisi]] would trade with them. Claug's national mythos states that it is partly responsible for the massive battleground that [[Hobbargah]] is built upon, and they are using this as an excuse to attempt to reclaim the area. Currently, they have an uneasy peace with [[Zhavvygrad]] #### Ministries Claug's government is broken up into several Ministries, who handle different aspects of Governance. * The [[Ministry of Cohesion]] * The [[Ministry of War]] ### Fabian Deltas The [[Fabian Deltas]] are home to the Salamander folk. ### Venalia [[Venalia]] has Transylvanian vibes like classic vampire movies. ### Alghan [[Alghan]] is a land quite disconnected from the rest of the world. It exists as a series of discs built on a giant pillar jutting out of the landscapes. It is home to winged bird people who fly between the discs. ### Kanara [[Kanara]] is a germanic-style fantasy kingdom. Sword and sorcery vibes. It is currently affected by a famine, and in one corner an outbreak of the [[spoilers:Whispering Death]].
